About Me

I am Amelia Cox, born in The West Midlands, UK

I have loved doing ballet from a young age and also did musical theatre and enjoy singing!

I decided to pursue my dream in dance and auditioned for Birmingham Royal Ballet Junior Associates at the age of 7, as well as Elmhurst Young Dancers the following year.

I began vocational training at the age of 11 at Elmhurst Ballet School and trained for 5 years. Living away from home was challenging but I learnt to do things independently from a young age which has helped in my day to day life. Training at Elmhurst gave me multiple opportunities to perform and work with talented choreographers like Wayne McGregor, Chris Penfold, marcia Edwards, Gavin Mcraig. I auditioned for BTUK in 2023 and began training for a BA Hons in ballet performance.

Training with BTUK gave me the opportunity to perform the repertoire Waltz Of The Flowers from Sleeping Beauty excerpts from Swan Lake, Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco and Wizard Of Oz.

I also had an amazing opportunity to tour with BTUK company performing A Christmas Carol. We travelled to multiple places across the country including Windsor, Newark, Southport, Basingstoke and Hinckley. I enjoyed this experience and loved working with a professional company which gave me an idea of what company life is like.

I am a hard working dancer and I enjoy collaborating with others in and outside the studio , I am a very outgoing, bubbly person and feel comfortable communicating with everyone. I constantly try my hardest in all areas of my training and strive to be a successful dancer.
